A U.S.‐China Economic and Security Review Commission Staff Research Report on Chinese weaponry up until 2012

SUMMARY OF REPORT

China's rapid economic growth has enabled its military to implement a modernization program to match NATO's, Japan's, and Russia's militaries. This program started around the 90s and focused on accomplishing significant mechanization and informatization.

This report includes China's most significant platforms from this modernization program up until 2012. Naturally, China now has much better weaponry and gear, yet it is important to analyze their first milestones, such as the Yuan-class submarine and their J-20 fighter.
